About Charles Ferguson Solicitor Hi, I'm Charles Ferguson Solicitor Advocate and I specialise in representing clients in criminal courts as a defence lawyer. I have spent everyday of my career trying to get better and better at defending my clients, and winning court cases. I am not just a lawyer or solicitor, but a Solicitor Advocate and as such have a right of audience in the High Court. This has been conferred on a small number of criminal defence lawyers after rigorous testing and training. I have been voted to finalist in the Criminal Lawyer of the Year category Law Awards for Scotland in both 2010 and 2011. This requires me being recommended by my clients and peers (other criminal defence lawyers and solicitors). I am also certified in Advocacy by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy of the United States of America, recognised world wide as the leading provider of training for court practitioners. My solicitors office is in Hamilton, near the sheriff courts and I defend my clients' cases in Hamilton, East Kilbride and Motherwell district and sheriff courts and Glasgow high courts.
